Every time we drive to bedford, we go by Hatfield Farm… the sign makes it look like horseback riding lessons, a wedding venue, etc. All things that make my hayfever flare up. But with the wannabe cowboys in town (nana and papa), I looked a little closer and found a christmas special… bouncy houses, mechanical bull, hotdog lunch, wagon/sleigh ride, petting zoo. It seemed like the perfect thing to do before nana and papa left town.
The one thing I missed this Christmas was having snow on the ground. A sleigh ride would have been much more holiday-ish. But the weather was beautiful and the wagon ride was neat and the boys giggled pretty hard when the horses left some poo behind.
Nana and papa were all smiles. The wagon ride took us to a little village of a half dozen or so buildings that looked like they were right out of a western. We spent a half hour or so in a big building with bouncy castles and… a mechanical bull! I couldn’t convince the boys to give it a try but papa was chomping at the bit. I have the evidence!
(Brian named the video ‘rodeo clown’. Not me. Just so you know, dad!)
We had an all-you-can-eat lunch of hotdogs and veggie burger and hot chocolate, then spent the rest of the time outside on the playground. They had a zip line too but the boys weren’t having anything to do with it. It was such a nice day, no one minded hanging out while we waited for the wagon to come back for us.
So what started off as an unknown turned into a really fun time… bouncy house, hotdog, and running around outside. I can’t wait to go back and have a sleigh ride when we have snow (fingers crossed for this weekend!).
