What a beautiful weekend we had.
The weather couldn’t have been better. We kept busy enough to avoid having antsy kids to contend with but not so busy that we were pulling our hair out. We had lots of family time, friend time, outside time, and plenty of firsts. It was one of those weekends that you wish could go on and on (because, let’s face it, sometimes I am begging Monday to get here) and one of those weekends that makes you smile all day when you are back at work.
Oliver is such a creature of habit and not at all a fan of change. When it came time to put his shorts and sandals on he balked and it took quite a bit of convincing for him to switch up his pants and sneakers. He finally gave in and we won’t have that trouble again now that he’s worn them once, but what a struggle to convince him!
On Sunday we went to nana and papa’s ‘blue house’… the camp… for a BBQ and an afternoon of playing outside. We had a nice walk with grammie down a lovely country road…
Emery loves to walk with us. It surprises me how long he can go on his own.
This picture cracks me up – Oliver said, “Take my picture, Daddy!” and then he jumped as high as he could.
Let’s stop for a hug (whether Emery wants it or not)!
A boy and his truck.
Oliver even tried fishing! The fish weren’t biting very well but he seemed really interested to hang onto the pole and wait.
Then Daddy caught one. The boys were so curious! Oliver thought it was great until it wiggled on the line. Emery leaned in really close for a good look and even reached out to touch it. He has no fear.
Oliver and I played by the water for a long time, sending grass and leaf “boats” down the stream. I love this picture with grammie fishing in the background – Three generations that love the outdoors.
Nana played in the water with Emery for a while.
I think this picture oozes curiosity.
I swear this kid would never tire of playing outside. He is constantly at us to go out, even when we just came in five minutes ago.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
In fact, we spent most of our weekend outdoors. More pictures to come!
