Growing Out On A Limb

December Snow

This is the sort of afternoon we had today…

It has been such a gorgeous day that Oliver spent half the morning outside with daddy and half the afternoon outside with mommy.  And that’s just the way we’d like every day to be.

We tackled our first snowman…

The snow wasn’t quite right but we managed to build an Oliver-sized snowman that he was pretty pleased with!  He thought it was quite funny when we added the arms, hat, scarf, and the face.

There he is… we named him Tony.

Then we went sliding.  We have the BEST sliding hill around… the driveway we don’t plow!  We started at the top our first time down but it was a lot faster (and scarier) than I thought it would be today.  This is the first winter we’ve been able to get Oliver on the sled and he loved going fast.  We found a couple more hills on our property after this, including the one that slid us quickly down toward the chicken coop.  I swear those chickens were laughing at us.

Then we stopped for a few minutes and just looked up at the sky.  We talked about what we might see in the sky, like airplanes and birds, then Oliver saw the wispy clouds floating by and said, “Look mommy!  Bubbles in the sky!”.

Frig I love that little guy, snotty nose and all.
